It's official, it is Hanging Season, aka The F Month

Yessiree, Hanging Season is in full swing. It has been so cold my brain refuses to function sometimes. I have started a small quilt for the Hoffman challenge and when my fingers and brain cooperate I work on that. It is nice to have a small piece to work on. I finished a mini quilt for January, and eventually I will take a picture of that, two friends and I have decided to make one quilt a month this year, and we'll swap one or two, that should be fun.
The picture of the cats is just like my backup heating source, so I couldn't resist passing it along.
In the sumer, the frequent complaint is:it's not the heat, it's the humidity, but this winter I am screaming:It's not the arctic cold, it's the fRIgging wind! My house sits up on a little knoll, so the wind makes some noise when it whips around the back. And since my storm windows keep falling off, we get gale force winds in the downstairs bathroom and the bedrooms upstairs.
The key to being able to drag yourself out of bed this winter is to layer as many items of clothing as possible, And wool blankets, thank heaven for junkstores, I have gotten some wonderful old blankets this year. Well, I'll stop this blather and get back to today's excitement : LAUNDRY

That is a beautiful piece. I can't belive your work, it always amazes me. Also love the second picture.
All fine here, just a couple more months and we can begin to think spring, well we can think about it now, but you know what I mean.
Always nice to see when you have a new post.

Happy Valentine's Day, Karin

I love that quilt..the tea pot is too cool. :0)

Are you making mini quilts with Jess and Naomi?? I know they do some swaps and have a lot of fun with it.

Gosh, I think of you and the blasted storm window malfunction. Good grief, it's got to be COLD in those rooms.

Being my first winter here I've been told that the amount of snow we are getting is highly unusual...it's moving in again tonight and for the next three days.

Thomas has been laid off from his job with no promise of being called back. You know we've been fighting this possibility since last June.

So be it....he's so tired of this 900 mile round trip commute. He turned 63 the end of January so he's filing for social security and for unemployment.

Life goes on with it's twists and turns. I'm happy to have my husband home again..I know that much!

I have many neat bird seed bags for you to recycle come spring time..I'll get them mailed all at once since by springtime I will have many more to add to the pile!

Try to stay warm...hook some of those cats around your neck and ankles...hehe :0)

Don't forget to come by for my February 20th PiNk Saturday. It will be my 75th week of participating and I'm having a giveaway to celebrate. :0)

Hello Karin,

I seem to be in Yo Yo land these days. :0) There's something soothing about making them. I've stayed so busy in the house since last May that I've done very little sewing or crocheting.....I'm staring at yarn but so far that's as far as it's gone. :0) I need to crochet Miss Morgan some new sweaters.

Thanks for coming over for a visit!
